How it works
Race circuits
Every part of a racing circuit has a name and a job. Tap the numbers to light each one up: the hairpin, the chicane, the esses, the DRS zone and more.
Tap a number on the track, or below, to light up that part of the circuit and read what it is for.
Speed around the lap
km/h at each numbered part. Red = slow corners (grip limited), green = medium, blue = flat out (drag limited). Slow corners are where the tyres run out of sideways push: speed² ÷ radius beats the grip.
Slow corners
Hairpins and chicanes: brakes, low gears and lots of steering.
Fast corners
Sweepers and esses: downforce holds the car on, drivers barely lift.
Straights
Top speed, DRS and slipstreams. Where most overtakes are set up.
